The department of Economics is one of the oldest departments founded in 1986 in the College. It is a social science, that studies how do we earn and allocate the resources. Economics studies about production, distribution, exchange and consumption. It studies human behavior as a relationship between ends and scarce means, which have some alternative uses. Business Economics is a mandatory course in the B. Com program at the FY, SY, and TY levels. The Foundation Course is also mandatory for FY, SY, BA and B. Com students. The department offers Microeconomics and the Foundation Course at the FYBA level, four courses at the SY.BA level, and six at the TY.BA level. For the B. Com program, the department offers two courses at the FY level, two at the SY level, and one at the TY level.
